Startup India Seed Fund Scheme

The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) is an initiative aimed at addressing the critical funding challenges faced by early-stage startups. It is funded by DPIIT, GoI. It provides essential financial support for key stages of a startup’s journey, including proof-of-concept, prototype development, product trials, market-entry and commercialisation. By bridging the funding gap that often determines the success or failure of innovative ideas, SISFS empowers startups to validate their business concepts, scale operations, and attract investments from angel investors, venture capitalists, or traditional financial institutions. IIMV FIELD has been granted funding of INR 5 Crores to invest in startups. This is expected to be received in 3 tranches.

At IIMV FIELD, the incubation centre of IIM Visakhapatnam, the SISFS program extends tailored support to startups by offering financial assistance of up to ₹50 lakhs through grants and investment instruments. Beyond funding, startups gain access to a holistic range of incubation services, including Mentorship from faculty, alumni, and industry experts, networking opportunities with investors and ecosystem partners, state-of-the-art infrastructure and curated capacity-building programs such as workshops, masterclasses and founder talks. The program is open to startups across all stages, sectors, and locations in India. By equipping startups with resources, expertise, and funding, SISFS at IIMV FIELD catalyses entrepreneurial success, enabling startups to transform their ideas into impactful ventures and contribute to India’s rapidly growing economy.
